Educational Program

Pippies at Balmoral provides a preschool educational program based on the Early Years Learning Framework.  The Program offers activities and materials that are concrete "hands on" experiences for exploration and are relevant to the children's lives, their stages of development, needs and interests.

All learning experiences are planned to meet objectives and are offered through activity/group and free play time.

We provide an environment and program for children that recognises their uniqueness and encourages their full development in every area - cognitive, social, physical, emotional, language and creative whilst ensuring their curiosity and love of learning is nurtured.

The program addresses the six key areas of children's development:

  • Cognitive
  • Language
  • Fine Motor
  • Gross Motor
  • Social/Emotional
  • Creative

Pippies provides an interactive learning environment for the child to explore.  Daily Programs include a balance of active and less active activities, of noisy and quiet activities, of group and individual activities.

All learning experiences are planned to ensure each child is meeting their potenial, set within the 5 Learning Outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework, and are offered through activity/group and free play time.

The Pippies Program also encourages a mix of child initiated activities rather than soley teacher directed activities.  There is a balance of sensory activities, art, science, music, large motor, fine motor, dramatic play, language and maths.

The Pippies Program includes a specific programming technique for our 4-6 year olds who will be attending school soon. The program is based on every child's developmental needs and strengths in readiness for school.
