Meals
Pippies provides fresh cooked meals whipped up by our onsite cook, Lesley. Lesley has been working at Pippies since we opened in 2001 although originally as one of our wonderful Jellyfish teachers. She is a master at providing meals for the children and ensuring that their daily nutritional needs are met. The children in the Starfish room love being able to see Lesley preparing and cooking their meals. All the children enjoy being able to ask her questions on how she is preparing the meals for the day.
Pippies nutritional policy aim is to provide at least 60% of a child’s daily nutritional requirements by means of meals and snacks in a way that encourages the child’s independence, the establishment of good eating habits and a willingness to try different foods.
Pippies provides nutritionally balanced meals and uses a minimum of salt, fats and sugar and is consistent with the Food Act 2003 and the Dietary Guide for Children:

The weekly menu is displayed above the sign in/out table as well as in front of the kitchen. Nuts of any variety are not included in our menu due to allergies.
Water is also available to the children throughout the day. Parents are asked to provide a water bottle for their child when they attend Pippies.
In each room there is an Eat/Sleep chart where the daily record is kept of each child. This displays whether they have eaten lunch, dessert and how long they have slept.
Please note - If your child has specific dietary needs we will try and accommodate these as much as possible, but there may be situations where you will be required to provide a meal for your child.
