Welcome to Pippies

Situated close to the picturesque shores of Balmoral Beach on Balmoral Oval, is Pippies at Balmoral Long Day Care Centre. Perfectly located, the Centre provides safe and easy access for parents and carers to drop off and pick up the children.  There is plenty of parking, including 2 specially designated 15 minute car spaces, and access to the centre is off the street so you can be reassured that pick up and drop off will be importantly safe and stress free.

Pippies, a proudly privately owned Centre, opened in March 2001.  Since then we have grown into a very well known and loved centre which we believe is not only because of the environment that we are surrounded by, but the warm and loving feel that all Pippies staff provide. With fantastic staff, a wonderful environment and excellent educational based program, you and your child will love being a part of the Pippies family. We pride ourselves on our reputation and have worked very hard at ensuring that each child and family that attends Pippies not only enjoys but excels in the nurturing environment that we provide.

Pippies is open from 8am till 6pm, Monday to Friday for 49 - 50 weeks of the year.

Pip Wrench-Podvinec owns and operates Pippies at Balmoral. Pippies holds a lease with Mosman Council to run the Centre on the site.

Alex Collings is the Director of Pippies, and looks after the day to day running of the centre. Please direct any enquiries to her.

Staff at Pippies are experienced and carefully selected. They plan and implement an educational based programme to suit every child’s different developmental needs. The weekly programme can be viewed at any time at the centre as it's conveniently located in your child's room.

Parents have the opportunity to be involved in Pippies in lots of different ways. These may include attending one of our Parent Committee meetings, assisting with fundraising, or making suggestions to be included in our daily program. We also encourage parents to share their skills with the children by organising a time with the staff, to come in and do a cooking activity, teach the children a new song, or read a story – whatever you feel comfortable doing.

If your child is having their first day at Pippies, we believe that it is in the child’s best interest that they be picked up after lunch, as the first day can be overwhelming for a child.

Around the sign in/out table there are notices for your information. This information will be about daily happenings in your child’s room and any other information you may need to know. There is also a monthly newsletter to keep you up-to-date with the latest happenings at Pippies.

There are books placed at the sign in/out table for you to leave messages regarding accounts or any other questions/concerns you may have. Please feel free to write any other comments you may wish to express. We also have a Suggestion Box at the sign in/out table.

Our policies, are available in a folder for you to look through by the front desk - please feel free to make suggestions. 

At the end of every year a Christmas concert is held in which the Jellyfish and Starfish rooms each put on a show.

We also hold a number of social events for families throughout the year and at the end of the year there is a large party where all the grandparents, siblings, aunties, uncles and friends are invited.
